3 mega projects awarded to Zero-point Interchange developer

Capital Development Authority (CDA) has recently awarded the construction contract to Karachi-based firm. This firm has already built Zero-point interchange in Islamabad.

CDA had opened bids for the construction of the Korang Bridge, the PWD Underpass on Islamabad Expressway & the Rawal Dam Interchange. A joint venture between Maqbool Associates & Calson won the contracts for all three projects as they had submitted the lowest bids. These details were shared by member planning & engineering Dr. Shahid Mahmood, who added that these projects would be officially awarded to the selected companies once all legal proceedings & formalities have been concluded.

The details of the venture cost are shared below:

  • PKR 1.17 billion for the Rawal Dam Interchange
  • PKR 628.5 million for the Korang Bridge
  • PKR 420 million for the PWD Underpass

The proposed costs lower in bracket of 11% to 19% than estimated costs for these projects.
