Previous Master Plan for Rawalpindi
Previously, 2 master plan was designed but unfortunately they remained unimplemented. For now, Satellite Imagery will be used to identify sectors in the city. Several factors are focused while designing it.
First master plan was designed in 1968. Other plan was designed in 1996. It was outlined for 20 years i.e. till 2016. Till now, due to massive urban migration, cities periphery expanded in the most unorganized manner. Due to failed traffic engineering & no right-of-ways, main roads contracting abruptly. Ultimately, it leads to severe traffic jams. In addition, lack of population data also causes shortage of civic utilities provision.
